A cold dark moon rises,
the clouds part revealing the stars.
We look up asking why
There is weeping, a tremendous sigh
Why have you gone
our grandmother
I remember her silver hair,
her submissive care,
with beautiful wrinkles.
Why did you go,
why did you pass.
our grandmother
Her fingers are cold,
her flesh is pale
And out rides the white sail
But we cannot follow
Our grandmother
